01 · What I care about
Systems that stay correct while the numbers keep moving.
Most of my work lives where correctness meets latency: distributed compute, real‑time analytics, and the unglamorous plumbing that decides whether a number arrives in time to be useful. I like problems where the constraint is physical rather than fashionable, and I would rather ship something small that holds than something clever that surprises you at 4pm.
Lately that also means putting agents to work on the parts of engineering nobody misses: triage, toil, the second half of a migration.
02 · Photography
Long walks, early light, one lens.
I photograph landscapes when I travel, mostly at the edges of the day when the light does the work for you. It is the closest thing I have to a practice: walk a long way, wait, take one frame, keep almost none of them.

Producing at home, and building the tools I wanted for it.
I produce music, play percussion and guitar, and end up building software for it: Morbas, on the App Store, pulls a song apart into vocal, drum, bass and instrument stems with tempo and pitch control, so you can practise against the parts you need. The models run elastically on AWS, which is a very roundabout way of saying I wanted to learn a drum line by ear.
